President - Dominican Republic
EDUARDO CORRAL
Eduardo Corral is a Junior at Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In his country, thousands lack adequate facilities to obtain a quality education and, therefore, a post-secondary and professional career that can end the cycle of poverty. After experiencing first-hand the discrepancy in STEM that the Dominican curriculum offers in public schools at a Technovation workshop, another community service group striving to educate students about STEM, he felt a firm conviction to improve things. Following the footsteps of his older brother, Eduardo decided to restart the club with the same goal in mind, “broaden the understanding of engineering so that young people see it as applicable, fun, and relevant.” Over the years, Eduardo has learned to love engineering through extracurricular activities like Robotics and Internships but was always perplexed by how little STEM was taught in the Dominican Republic. Through EngineeringPromise.org, Eduardo strives to make STEM fun and entertaining for little kids as it is for him. He seeks to involve other engineering parts in the program, such as robotics, while still maintaining the organization's original focus and broadening the understanding of Engineering.
