Fundación La Merced
Fundación La Merced is an institution of the Catholic Church that focuses on preventing and eradicating child labor, domestic or commercial sexual exploitation of Children and Adolescents, accompanying them and training them to acquire a comprehensive education through the values ​​of the Mercedarian Congregation that allows them to contribute to the development of a free, fair society and solidarity.
Engineering Promise has begun working alongside Fundación la Merced for our newest challenge. We have begun teaching young children and teenagers STEM-related concepts and how they are applied to the real world to help them positively establish themselves to society once again.
In collaboration with Fé and Alegria, and the Carol Morgan School of Santo Domingo, Engineering Promise works to provide advanced STEM education to low income schools around the Dominican Republic.
We do this by offering STEM Classes to children from the Fé and Alegria schools taught by students in the High School Engineering club.
Fe and Alegria is an International Movement for Comprehensive Popular Education and Social Promotion, aimed at impoverished and excluded sectors of society, to enhance their personal development and social participation.
We offer public, free, and quality education to boys, girls, and young people from urban-marginal and rural areas contributing to the social and human development of the neediest communities, serving national education.
